The following is the importance of accompanying objectives; objectives act as guidance to the employees in a time when they need to make a difficult decision. This is because objectives goals map the direction of where the organization is going and how it plans to reach there (Feliciano, 2017).Objectives promote planning to determine how the achievement of goals will take place. Majorly organizations do set goals to satisfy a need, hence the goal can be a motivating factor and lead to better work performance. During controls and evaluation, an organization to reflect on its objectives verse the actual performance, then make adjustments if nece ssary. Issues affecting employee productivity The objective that the company has while implementing this programs include; first to reduce the employee absenteeism with 10 % more per annum, although the company has attained 6% reduction within the last 12 months of program implementation. Secondly, the goal is to prevent workplace injury, this injury comprises back injury and injuries due to repetitive strain. Thirdly, an increase in the number of employees hiring fitness coach despite the company having an onsite fitness center. Employee absenteeism is a problem that affects man organization and it's very difficult to quantify its costs. The reason behind employees absenteeism is contributed by a number of factors such as the incapacity to provide employee support by the management (Folger, 2017).Lower employee motivation to work. The lack of tools to measure the cause and identify reasons for absenteeism within an institution. Lastly, burnout caused by being overworked can result in high employee absenteeism percentage. A workplace injury is associated with constraining during work time or back injury. There are a number of factors that contribute workplace injury of an employee: Stress has a massive impact on the employee body and mind resulting negatively on the work performed. Fatigue can be brought about by the fact of lacking to take a break or shorter breaks. Long hours of working and lack of sleep can result in heart ailments. Back injury can be brought about by long hours of working sitting down on a chair that is not comfortable. Workplace fitness center aims at improving the employees productivity at work through enrolling them at fitness center within an organization. The reason why company invests in the fitness center is that they are aware that the program will reduce the company expense in return. Inform of lower employee absenteeism rate, better work productivity and reduced health costs (Noelcke, 2017). Standard approaches to address the situation in the workplace. Employee absenteeism affects the company negatively as it increases the expense cost of the company, however, several measures can be put in place to curb this absenteeism. The first introduction of employee attendance policy, this will formalize the expectation of the organization. Secondly, set clear attendance expectation of the company. Discuss in details with employees on the company expectation for attendance. Discuss the method of communication and protocol to be used in communicating in case an employee is not coming for work. Lastly, provide employee support. The standard approach to eliminating workplace injury such as back injury and straining focuses on two approaches. First, is the ergonomic control, which comprises of the engineering control and administrative control. Engineering control, this type of control focuses or reducing the awkward work posture through the ergonomic modification that tries to maintain different motion to accomplish work task with mid-range of motion positions for the joints that are vulnerable(Middlesworth, 2017).Administrative control, include the measure taken by the organization to practice controls such as breaks and job rotation. Secondly, is the individual controls is categorized into two, the early intervention process and the education and training process. The education and training process, suggest the training of employees on all aspects of performance. This include the wellness and individual health, ergonomics, principle of MSD prevention. One on one training and formal classroom to ensure that the message is being understood well. The early intervention process. Early intervention is a process to discover the early warning of an injury and start preventing it from the sign displayed in the early stages. The consultation done on one on one are considered the last line of defense between the present risk factors and an injury. Approaches suggested Implementation of an Employee assistance program will help in reduction of employee absenteeism. Based on the conference attended on the stress management, its clear that burnout during work increases the employee absenteeism. The organization has raised awareness about health issues and made use of the program which has brought about the 6 % reduction. Full support and commitment from the stakeholders which comprises of experts on stress management and having employee representative who is free to speak out their mind will lead to the successful outcome of the program. One cannot work without the support of the other. The organization has provided a wellness center but the problem is that its lacking essentials such a bathroom. According to the survey conducted, the employee feedback on failure to attend early morning walk was that they are not able to access shower and breakfast before the commencement of work. The organization should create more awareness to allow employees to prepare for corporate fundraising walk event. Approaches I prefer Implementation of employee program assistance as a preventive measure for addressing employee absenteeism will create a more understanding platform for employee employers, hence impacting positively on work performance. Showing of support to employees by the employers boost their morale and motivation to work. On the issues of workplace injury, setting up a wellness center that Is equipped with all the essential is a great step to overcoming back strain or injury. Employees should be cooperative to benefit from this programs. Conclusion Employee absenteeism and workplace injury are on the rise.it are of significance to address this issues as failure to do so or ignorance by any part has a negative impact on the organization and the employee.
